Santorini's volcanic origin created an underwater landscape unlike anything else in the Aegean — lava tubes, basalt arches, thermal vents that warm the water, and dramatic drop-offs plunging into deep blue.
Visibility regularly reaches 30–40 metres. The volcanic rock hosts moray eels, octopus, barracuda, nudibranchs and dense sponge gardens. At 20 metres off the caldera wall sits the Taxiarchis wreck, a small cargo vessel now colonised by marine life.
All dives are run by PADI-certified instructors with full equipment provided. Never dived before? The Discover Scubasession starts with pool training and progresses to a supervised open-water dive — no certification needed.
