Live the myth of Santorini
Atlantis is the most famous lost city in mythology. Plenty of places have claimed to be its origin, but the eruption of Santorini's volcano — and the Minoan settlement it buried at Akrotiri — is the version most archaeologists actually take seriously. The Lost Atlantis Experience Museum in Megalochori is built around that thesis: a one-hour walk through Greek history, mythology, philosophy and geology, told through interactive video, AR dioramas, an animated Plato hologram and a 9D cinema.
The museum sits in a new 700 m² facility with parking, wheelchair access and capacity for 50 visitors per session. You can photograph and film everywhere except inside the 9D cinema. Easy to add to a full-day private or semi-private tour.
